    Shipping Muzzleloader

Is there any advice on shipping a muzzleloader? From what I understand, I don't need a FFL? Mine is still at my dad's in Michigan but it would be handy to have it for the late doe season down here. I'm just curious on the best way to get it here.

Someone will correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe muzzleloaders should be able to be shipped just like anything else. It’s doesn’t have the same classification as a rifle/shotgun/handgun

Typically, no FFL is needed unless it’s one built on a serialized centerfire rifle action.

From what I understand, you are 95% correct. Only issue is with “easily converted to center fire” like the encore. Most black powder fall under “antique” classification as long as they are 100% BP only

Only reason I know this is because I’m looking to buy one and wondered why you can buy directly from a dealer and get it shipped straight to home.

Yea, we’ve bought a couple online and had them delivered to the door. No FFL needed.

Sometimes different states have different rules. As far as Texas and the USA, you should be fine just mailing it, but I would make sure that Michigan says the same thing. I am pretty sure cali and ny have different rules on black powder guns than every where else, so Michigan might too
