Hunting/fishing ADHD

I live fall fishing but don’t go as much as I should.

Winter time boat rides suck. I figure if I’m going to ride in a boat and get cold I should at least blast some ducks first and then fish when it warms a bit.

That’s not entirely true. I am guilty of enjoying a good croaker bite. Easy catching and probably the best eating fish that swims inshore. Lol. I fish for everything that’s biting.

I’d rather fish than breath. I took a lot of time off from hunting (10+ years) to fish. I am finding it very easy to focus on hunting the past two years. I’ve built two rifles in the past year as well. Haven’t bought a new rod in a year and a half. You better believe I’d still fish over hunt if I had to choose. Fished the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans. No buck will equal a cow yellowfin or giant trevally. A nice buck will outdo a 30” red on the flats or a 5lb smallie on a rocky point.

I plan every year to hunt from the end of September to the middle of November. Then flounder fish until the run stops.. problem is work has screwed up my plans the last 2 years. I love bow hunting and flounder fishing. Luckily around March I'll be back on the water dragging a mud minnow through a marsh drain.

Once I get in hunting mode I don't switch back into fishing mode until it warms up some.

Same here. Plus the days are too short to go after work. Getting off at 5:00 doesn't leave you enough time to get to the water let alone wet a line. In the summer when it gets dark at 8:30-9:00 I can drive 40 minutes to Sabine and catch a quick limit of specks before dark.
