My grandson is finished with his high school football career and will graduate this May. He turned out to be a pretty good player these past couple of years and up until a couple of weeks ago told me he had no interest in playing at the next level. Well things have changed and his high school coaches have urged him to continue playing college ball. In this Covid year how do you think recruiting is going? How does his film and name get out in ways other than his coaches? He needs to find ways to put on more weight and muscle for sure and will run track this spring. In the past 2 weeks a couple of schools recruiters want him to come for a visit but I want him to have as many options to choose from as possible. Any secrets or ideas that would help him in his search for a good program?

Well if he is already a senior, it’s going to be tough at the upper level. D3 isn’t out of the question or possibly D2 but D2 will be tough as the seniors they are after have already been offered going into their senior season. You can have him start on Twitter and email all colleges he is interested in. Fill out their recruiting questionnaire on the football website. He will need to email the college position coach, recruiting coordinator and possibly offensive or defensive coordinator. Once he has identified the correct coaches at the college he has to follow them on Twitter and reach out through Twitter DM’s as well. Be the squeaky wheel with his film and send it to everyone ASAP. Most all colleges have their senior list already done and offered so he has to bank on commitments dropping or switching. If you need more help let me know. My son got a pretty good D2 scholarship for football last year.

He can get on twitter and DM his hudl film to all the position coaches of colleges he thinks he wants to play for. I doubt it'll do much good, but it won't hurt anything.
His best chance is for his coaches to call schools and send his hudl video for him. I am shocked his coaches haven't already done this for him since they are pushing him to continue on the next level.
I agree with above, his best chance is a D3 school. He might jump in there and get a D2 offer out of state. D1 is a long shot at this point.
