    Gunsmith Recommendation in San Antonio

Have a pre-tang safety Ruger M-77 30-06 that has a bulge in the barrel.
Who you you recommend to replace/fix? Also going to need a new stock

    Thanks in advance

Check out KDF in the seguin area or hill country rifles I’ve never worked with either but have heard of both.

You could check with Dale Wise Custom Guns off of Blanco near Olmos park.
Had him re-barrel a few of Ruger’s back in the early 90’s. Dale has passed on but believe an apprentice took over the business. Dale was a hoot and a great smith, a true old school guy. He helped influence me into building my own.

Just an FYI, it isn’t going to be cheap.

If that isnt your #1 sentimental gun you're cheaper off "junking" it. Decent barrel 350. Fit and chamber will be several hundred plus price of a stock.

Several years ago I rebarreled a Ruger 7 Mag with a new take-off barrel I bought on-line from an Ohio gunsmith shop. Had to fill the screw holes from the front sight and do a bit of blue touch up, but it was by far the least expensive route.
