I fly up Friday for first season as well.

I’m on the border of zones 7 and 5. But I’ll be hunting in zone 7. Where are you headed?

First hunt this morning... saw about 20 in the timber. 5-6 bucks but no shooters. About to go back in.

Yea, pass on all 4 of them bucks and wait for something bigger. LOL. Just kidding, Big boys are wised up by now and probably moving late or even at night but you might catch one early looking for a doe, second rut should be starting soon. Also I would try and stay out all day if you can. Good Luck

Seen about 40 deer so far. The farmer asked that I fill my doe tags for sure so I dropped one this morning. It’s crazy to see a doe that weighs 180 lbs.
I hope tonight is the night!

Well I came home with a tag but had a great time. I shot a doe which put some meat in the cooler but the bucks just weren’t cooperating. I passed on some decent ones opening morning that looking back, I maybe should have taken. I learned a lot and am looking forward to next time. Thanks for all the tips and encouragement!
