I know the last sentence sounds like it's not a challenge but I can tell you some stories. These kids are coming up with all kinds of ways to get out of the virtual classroom. There are some that are treating the virtual system like a vacation and the parents are on board.
Spring 2020 was a disaster and everyone skated by, almost no one was held back. Teachers/Admin learned a lot and Fall 2020 is a whole different ball game. Parents that are keeping kids at home/out of school had better be prepared if those kids are slacking. Several local districts now mandate that if a student is failing they have to return to the classroom, no exceptions, otherwise pull them out and homeschool.

Try owning a bar. It’s a mess. Bars are the ultimate scapegoat for the governor. Most bars that didn’t serve any kind of food have begun serving food so that they can have enough capacity to try and survive. Then they (TABC) make their rounds throughout the state and start hammering folks for the dumbest things. Guess who is held accountable if a patron in a bar/nightclub isn’t wearing a mask......the bar. Don’t like it as a bar owner? Tough luck. 30 day suspension of your liquor license. Push back or have another violation........60 day suspension. And that is just one thing that they can cite you for. Half of the crap they are just making up on the spot. It’s crazy.
This is ludicrous. Bar owners wish that they could take the “won’t shut me down” view but that will only put a nail in the coffin of their business as the state will literally put them out of business. Anyone who would vote for that coward Abbott should think twice and then think again. Talk about pure abuse of power.

It's a way to get the kids into school and not staying home. The teachers are spread too thin trying to manage an in person classroom and a virtual classroom.

Yeah I see the joke of virtual daily. I talk to teachers daily that are being forced to teach double the classes essentially because of this virtual stuff. The failing mandate is the same for us as well.
Sierracharlie out....

Our district requires everyone to wear masks and they don’t require quarantine for anyone other than those that test positive
Their position is that masks are supposed to prevent the spread so there is no need to send anyone else to quarantine
Most logical structure I’ve seen.

My uncle is a truck driving instructor at the prison in Beelvile. All of his students tested positive a couple months ago he never wore a mask and never got sick. His whole family at home was diagnosed with it. He never wore a mask and. Ever got it. Even slept next to my aunt every night.
I had to take a test for an endoscopy/colonoscopy I had done a Cupke weeks ago. My test results were not back by the time I had my procedure. The staff said “we will just test you as if you have Covid.” So why take the test? Who gets paid for it?
The staff did say they lost a lot of money due to the first shutdown and hope they don’t have to again

I have a buddy who is a cable repairman... he never lost a days work. How is his job more important than a hairdresser or a plastic surgeon or a waitress? We all have families and they all need us to earn a living.
If you ask me this whole **** thing has been about dividing us as a people and as a nation. Folks need to wake up and stop making it so easy for them. Love your neighbors as your do yourself.

Essential as it’s defined in today’s environment.
Absolutely not saying someone’s job isn’t essential to them. No need to argue semantics. Didn’t mean anything by it.
