    Need climbing stick suggestions

Looking for some good climbing sticks to use with a saddle. Can’t remember where I saw it, but I recall reading about climbing sticks that don’t use a strap, instead they have a cam on the stick and you essentially tie in a rope instead of dealing with multiple ratchet straps to secure the sticks. If anyone knows of something similar, or something they think would work well for a hang and hunt lightweight set up I’m all ears.

I hang and hunt about 95% of the time and love my Lone wolf sticks, no ratchet strap but does use a metal buckle. Friend of mine uses the hunting beast sticks and really likes them. Ive seen the sticks you are speaking of but cant remember the brand. That being said there are rope mods for almost all the sticks on the market. Tethrd even has pre made daisy chains.

About how high up can you get with the three lone wolf sticks?

The Muddy Pro sticks have a "cam cleat" to secure the rope instead of a buckle and strap.

Muddy Pro Climbing Sticks Pack Together with Several Compatible Muddy Fixed-Position Treestand Models they are designed for crooked or straight trees.

The Hawk Helium 20" sticks are on sale right now. I've heard mixed reviews on these so I couldn't tell you from experience. Im getting my saddle system set up now also.

I like my lonewolfs. If you plan on walking in a far distance or you walk thru thick brush I’d go with the minis with cable aiders.

I think I might go with the lone wolf sticks, the clamp system doesn’t seem as bad as I thought. Should I stick with the traditional harness system or is a lineman’s belt worth it? I’ve tried to set up one lock on stand in my harness and it sucked. I assume the lineman’s belt helps make that an easier process

You definitely need a lineman's belt.

I use hawk helium 20" and regular sticks. I like a step on both sides of the stick.. I don't use the buckles . I daisy chained some Amsteel. You can also use climbing rope instead of the buckle straps.. buckles are too noisy for me..

Linemans belt is a must IMO.

                            Lineman's belt for sure

I believe you may be thinking of the Muddy Pro Sticks with the rope system. I have the lone wolf sticks and like them but sometimes I wish I had a stick without a buckle and also sticks with steps that goes across both sides instead of alternating steps like my lone wolf sticks. Be able to have both feet on one step would really make hanging stands easier but may not be an issue with a saddle.
