Heck of a buck, congrats. I could care less about which head anyone uses, i choose fixed. I will say this, i booked a guided elk hunt a few years ago in New Mexico, the only restriction the outfitter had was absolutely no mechanical heads, he said he was tired of chasing wounded elk all over the mountain. From what i have seen they sure seem to get the job done.

But most of the hype I read is about gushing blood trails, in our experience this year on 4 deer that was not the case, in fact the blood trails were no different than the Muzzy’s
I forgot to even mention the difference in penetration....

I started with fixed tried mechanical then went back to fixed blades cause I was convinced by a friend that mechanicals were prone to failure even though I never experienced it. With fixed blades I’ve never had good solid blood trails I always thought that maybe it was a bad shot on my end but with rage I always found some blood no matter where the broadhead made contact. Obviously the easiest thing to say about my experiences is that I suck at shooting and I should give it up but in my opinion mechanicals are just better at killing animals period.
