    Wi-fi booster

Not really sure how these work. I built a new barn/shop. It’s about 80 feet from my house. My Wi-fi doesn’t quite reach out there. Can I just get a booster from Best Buy and be in business? All I really want it for is so my dish anywhere can work without having to pay for another hook up. Thanks. I’m a little over my head.

It should. Most boosters will extend a signal several hundred feet, some much further. Some factors like walls, other things running in same frequency, etc could interfere, but only 80 feet of open yard should certainly be doable.

If your barn is metal sheathed probably not. I ran a separate ethernet cable and put in a wifi extender to get service inside my metal building.

I would think this is your best option.

Yep that will kill the signal unless you have a roll up door open.

You will be better off running a cable out there.
