Only get one hunt before I leave out for work but with tomorrows conditions it may be all i need, or ill get 10 days of muzzle loader when I get back in town.
Target buck showed up 2 nights ago finally on a scrape and daylighted this morning (Christmas morning). Perfect wind tomorrow and 30 Deg temps. Hope it’s happens. Typical 10 point with a small drop tine and should be 7.5+ this year.
I’ll update in the morning!

We can use ML only and youth can use any means or method. Doe are back on the table again too.
I’ve got one tag left and it’s reserved for this buck.
This time of year is some of the best hunting around my house to catch a mature buck starting his post season pattern. All my bucks usually return this by now, luckily he’s not broke off this time.

My place is only 20 minutes from Longview but in Smith County.....i need to check the regulations there with TPWD.
UPDATE: Just checked on TPWD......January 8 - 21 in Smith county is youth and muzzleloader also. Odd that a bow is not allowed however.....either way cool to know this for next year. I still have 12 MLD tags left in the hill country to burn thru.

He came in with the big 6, a passing truck on the gravel road near by spooked them both. Eventually they came back by but weren’t coming in to the corn. The 6 started to leave and the big 10 stepped into a lane at about 80 yards. I sent it broadside. Not sure how i didn’t fold him up. Smoked cleared and I saw several doe and a buck running north. Couldn’t tell if it was him or the 6
He wasn’t piled up and i never found blood. I’ll grid search tomorrow and hopefully find him.
