Live from Longview

Thanks y’all.

8am yesterday morning.

Hadn’t seen a deer… Not even my regular doe. I was texting my cousin about the lack of movement and swatting mosquitoes and when I looked up a spike was 15 yards from me. Snuck in on me from my blind side.

I catch movement out front too, from the creek bottom and reach for my bow as I recognize those ghost white legs of my target buck.
My arrow hits my shooting stick that’s leaned against my pop up window, clank!!..it starts to fall over and i catch it.
Busted!

Spike trots off and then ol Sox goes on high alert. 50 yards out facing me.
I subconsciously set my bow down on the ground holder, slip my rifle into my lap, safety off, shoulder it, see white throat patch, boom.
He drops DRT!
