artificial tree limb?

Has anyone made one from square tubing? I can't find information in strength, only going to be 3 feet from tree and hill country deer aren't that heavy. What size and gauge would be adequate? I will have a brace (gusset) and a couple of places for straps or chains. I know lots of variables but any help appreciated.
