Best time of year to buy high end bows

I've decided I'm gonna upgrade this year before next season. Given the frequencies of new models introduced each year..what time of the year is the best time to buy the previous year premium model. Mathews/Hoyt..other. Bows not sold thru catelog type venues but Proshop dealer only bows in the 600-1000 range.
All my buddies are pushing Mathews real hard but I own some old Older Hoyt's and a Brownings and would go with a Hoyt that fit my specs.

Also, anybody know if bows bought second hand (ebay) can have warranty transferred?

Also, Also..been told that on Mathews, its best to restring and re-cable the bow right out of the box with higher end material . The factory material that comes with the bow stretches real quick with moderate shooting.

Any tips to getting they best price is appreciated including recomending a dealer in the Dallas/Ft Worth/Waco Area excluding Arlington Bowhunting

    Tax Returns are comming soon

Time of year doesn't seem to matter unless you want a 06 bow and their already gone for the most part. Don't buy in Sept thou as you may have a hard time finding the bow you want. I really like Fay and NTA in Farmersville, he has Hoyt,Bowtech and Mathews all on the rack to shoot side by side.

On the Mathrews string, I had lots of problems with my Legacy and noted some issues with friends 05 SB's. In 06 Mathews went to a different string and my 06 SB XT hasn't had to be worked on for ~2000 shots. I made one adjustment after about 75 shots and since then my BH is dead on and ATA has moved out by a 1/16th. Good luck on the new rig...........

Grizz, what do you have against ABHW. Let me know when you want to go and I'll make sure you have a great experience.

As every one else will say, go shoot them all, then decide what you want. Any time of year is good exept just before hunting season, most places have a hard time keeping anything in stock. you may pay a little more at the local pro shop than the net, but you get personal attention, you will not get on the net.

          .....

I don't think ole Fay carries Bowtech anymore.....but he does carry Mathews, Hoyt and Evotech.

I know the Mathews warranty does NOT transfer to a secondhand owner.

Personally, I'd be leary about buying a bow on Ebay.......I'd only buy used from a reputable person....you can never tell if it's been dryfired, dropped or damaged another way and then you are out your money plus money to get ANOTHER bow if it has been..

I have an 06 switchback and have had no problem with the string.....I believe all of the 06s have the Zeebra Barracuda string on them and it seems to be pretty good!

Never had a problem with my Mathews factory string. I have had it over a year without ever having to change my pins or it fraying. I keep it waxed pretty well though.

I find the best deals on used bows in January and early February. Everyone is broke from Christmas and the income tax refunds haven't come in yet.

                  Thanks

Thanks for the input. Sounds like Mathews fixed the stretch problem, so that is one issue gone. And THX for the warranty Xfer info..No EBAY.I had'nt thought that these 06' bows would be soldout! Definitely something to consider! Might need to order now and see.
I'll checkout Farmersville..THX! Just gotta put in the legwork and shop. God I hate shopping...I've shot my buddies bow- Switchback,ICON and Legacy..want to shhot a Hoyt and all the talk about the guardian has me wanting to shoot that too..The shorter axle to Axle lengths won't let me use my release on the string so I have to use the loop. Might have to drop to 28" with a loop..so I better shoot before I buy.

As for my aversion to ABHW, there is no need to rehash in here again. Lets just say my first encounter was my last. But Thanks for the invite!

                      Going...going...

Lowest price quote on a Drenalin Bow only- no sights/rest/quiver= $719.
Seen some setups at $800. I will setup my own bow and tune. Just need the bow- either I pickup if close to Dallas/Ftworth/Waco or shipped w/insurance from a reputable pro-shop ( I know this is risky but would like to see first if anybody ships if paid in full via PayPal or Credit Card) If no significant savings relative to risk..then I'll go with the shop.

Anybody seen a Drenalin Bow only- no sights/rest/quiver at a LOWER cost?
                      Let me know where...

Appreciate it! I expect to buy before for my B-Day in March.

I know our Matthews and Bowtech dealers pretty much stick to there prices til they are sold, so I don't know if you could get a better deal on a new one unless it had been on the rack for a couple of years. That being said I'm not sure there is a preferred time of year to purchase. I would like to to purchase and have at least some time of getting familiar with your bow and broke in before the season.

If you want to save a little money and get a used bow, watch TBH Classifieds. There are always a couple of year old bows on there at great prices and you can meet who you buying it from.

I didn't know there was a "bad" time to buy a new toy!

You MIGHT be able to save a few bucks if you get an '07 right when the '08s come out and dealers have a few of last year's bows to clear out. BUT, you'll have a small window of opportunity and might not get exactly what you want.

Hoyt does not transfer warrenties to the second owner, either.
