Has anyone done the online course? If so how did you find someone to do the proficiency test? I am in the Woodlands/Conroe area.

I am in the same boat. I called Spring guns and ammo. You just pay one of their instructors to administer the test. I think he said $55. Then you gotta do fingerprints in your own.

I am an instructor. The instructor has to do 2 hours of gun safety and then the shooting proficiency. I can do it for you if you like. I have a private range on my property in Waller, about 35-40 minutes from the Woodlands.
As a side note, the fingerprints are done separately on your own regardless of doing the classroom portion in person or online. The DPS site will forward a link to you after you register with them.Comment
