I wish I was in a position where people hated me because I had too much money.

I don't think it's Harden I think the problem is the owner Tilman Fertitta. The Owner took a hit with his casino and restaurant business due to COVID and being overleveraged. Now he plans to run the organization like a small market team. Giving harden 50M/yr for two years is not wildly overpaying him. He would likely get close to that in free agency if he was eligible. IMO moving forward Tilman wants to keep Harden to sell tickets and keep viewership but only put little pieces around him which will not work for a guy like Harden who wants a ring. The GM and the head coach already left so I do not know why people blame the players and not the owners and management. Say you had a chance to make more money but not reach your career goals OR make decent money AND be in a good spot to reach your career goals, which option do you pick? I would say neither option makes you an idiot, just different priorities.

I don't watch the NBA but it's America and Hardin should try for as much money as he can get. However, if he goes to any team other than the Lakers, he will have no chance to win a championship. They are stacked.

I've never kept up with men that can throw a ball in a basket or run passed a line carrying a ball.

Everyone jumping ship because of the owner. Coach, GM, players don't want to work for someone not committed to winning.

I have never heard this once.

Do a little research on the Fertitta name. The family made their fortune back in the day in Galveston. They like to gamble. The usually win.

He says he wants to win at any expense, but wouldn't allow Morey to dip into the level of spending that would put their payroll over the hard cap and nto the luxury tax level. Could have picked up pieces that would have helped them win. Nothing wrong with that, and being the astute businessman he is, a solid move from that standpoint. However; in my estimation this is why Morey left. I don't feel he believed Fertitta is "all in" when it comes to winning. The team is an investment to Fertitta and if they happen to win along the way thats just a bonus. I think the players, GM, and coach caught on to that.
