    Age/score

I typically can age hill country deer on the hoof fairly well but this deer had me baffled. We do not feed protein. I thought young at first but we do not see horns like this on young deer. Anyway, I let him walk and think it was the right call. What do you guys think?

Third /4th pics are what we typically see at 3.5 diff deer (9 point)

Really just need input on age. I know they score low. That 9 point picture was taken at 15 yards while bowhunting, I thought it was funny he basically had a white 'bulls-eye patch' starring at me. That deer has a few more years to go and should finish out nice.

For a hill country deer I'm thinking 5.

I’m guessing 4.5 or 5.5. Really nice buck. I still think it was a good pass. He will be a stud in a year or two. Can’t kill a giant if you don’t let good deer pass.

In that first pic his face looks older to me and he has what appears to be the beginning formation of calluses on his front knees. Im going with older vs younger.
