    Marks on barrel(s) from safe...?

I notice on my barrels that I’m having a distinct Mark left on them from the rack in my Cannon safe....anyone else experienced this? Suggestions for correcting/eliminating? Thanks

it is common,,, if you put the barrel in even slightly oily some of the oil will be left in the cradle were the barrel rests.. if you put them in completely dry and there was ever a oily barrel inside they will have a mark,,,, not to mention what humidity can do...... also the super highly glossy barrels of yesteryear were polished to a finer finish that most are today,, the higher the polish the less likely a mark will be left, especially if it is a humidity issue, if it were an oil matter a very light wipe with a cloth would remove it

      Helpful explanation. Thank you
I understand that leaning a cerekoted barrel(such as the one in the pic) against the cloth cradle where a oiled barrel once was You’re likely to get residual transfer....is there a better product than cloth to put in the cradle that won’t absorb/hold the oil OR can be easily wiped out and removed?

        Interesting.
I keep everything oiled due to living on the coast.

Gun socks are great for protecting guns from safe damage. Cheap and don't add bulk.

honestly since i live very near the coast i prefer the oil,,, plastic or rubber would not absord the oil,,,,
