Saturday, my 13 year old connected and smoked his first deer ever with a bow. We hunted a pop up and the deer were very leary of it which made it pretty challenging for him to draw. With some on the fly coaching he smoked her at 24 yards. She made it 60-70 yards before piling up. Saturday evening he hunted for his first time alone out of a lock on, he ended up smoking another doe at 17 yards. Both shots are a little forward, but it was good enough. I am extremely proud of him. Kid has shot his bow almost everyday since June to make sure he was dialed in for this experience! The evening hunt was bitter sweet for me, I no longer have a hunting partner but gained a hunting buddy!
