    ATV Sales

So I just inquired about buying 2 Kodiak 700's from Freedom Power Sports in Weatherford. They have 1 used and 2 new base models in stock. They are advertising the used one for 6900 and new ones for 7200. I said give me a quote for the the used one and a new one AND another quote for both new ones. I'm ag exempt and paying cash.

She said on the used one the list price is the sales price and on the new ones that even though they are listed for 7200 there is a 1500 assembly fee and its really 8700. I laughed at her and hung up the phone.

Is anyone on here a ATV/UTV sales person that wants to make me a deal on a pair of ATVs?

Bunch of powersports dealers have hidden fees. You can't get an honest price out of them. I was recently buying a zero turn from a place in Alvin. They wanted delivery, assembly, documentation fees for an extra $600 not including tax.

Hey if they want to let them sit burn up cashflow...so be it. But I just cannot understand the concept of paying above MSRP for anything. If it was some special run car that the manufacturer made 400 units of was ultra rare I would understand. But I'm not trying to buy a Dodge Demon. I just want a base model ATV. A quick look on ATV Trader says there are 44 just like this one within 200 mi of my home. I'll start calling around and find someone that is willing to deal.

That Freedom Powersports is about a mile from my house. Last year I was ready to buy a new 4 wheeler but after several run-around conversations with the salesman I didn't go back. I have a low tolerance for game-playing sales people who think they can get one over on me. I ended up taking my time looking and luckily found a good deal from an honest guy on Craigslist. Bought a Grizzly 550 with less than 50 hours on it and saved a ton of $$.

$1,500 assembly fee sure seems high.

I will say there is nothing unusual about freight and assembly fees charged on ATV/UTV sales. Seems like assembly on UTV's is a bit higher as there really is more to assemble. Even with that, it seems the last UTV we bought those fees were around $750, not $1,500.

It's obviously all negotiable to an extent. Also, no question it can be frustrating when a Sales person states they can sell something for X dollars and when the paper work starts getting prepared, it's really more than that.

Sounds like you had the typical Freedom Powersports experience then.

Bryan at Hoffpaiur in Goldthwaite treated me more than fair. I will buy from him again as they smoked the prices that I was getting locally in Houston and the customer service was exceptional.

I hear that Pasadena Powersports is doing good as well from a couple guys on my lease.

                    Good luck!

why not buy a nice used set or ones off craigs or atvtrader? cash no tax and be done

No offense but if you are the type to gripe about dealer fees etc you are no different than I am and I refuse to buy anything from a dealership

Hoffpauir donated a Polaris sportsman to SCI in midland, we bought the unit at the banquet auction.

They were fantastic to work with and even though it was a donation they treated us top notch, even delivered at no costs.. We plan to use them from here on

There isn’t any assembly. When I bought mine I watched them in rate it and loaded it on the trailer.

Bryan was absolutely the best I’ve ever dealt with on any dealership purchase.
