Ok I'm about to give this a whirl. Wind is wrong for my best spots . I sort of scouting this morning. I know where a big deer spend hys nights and know where he beds. He has several routes back in though and is gone from his night haunts just before light every day.
My plan is to sneak in much closer to bedding and just sit in the brush and watch a couple trails. I corned a spot in there yesterday hoping to encourage him go my way.
This is a long shot and little to no service when I get in. I'll update when possible but likely after the hunt. First hour of light and its over.Last edited by GarGuy; 11-12-2020, 05:00 AM.

Any videos still available for purchase?

I'm back home drinking coffee . Did not shoot but man what a hunt! I sneaked in down a sandy rut to a point I had looked at yesterday. It gave me a semi open look down through the pines to where I scattered corn yesterday. Three major trails crossed and converge on the edge of the super thick stuff. Anyway I felt really good about how well I got in directly into the wind with no light.
As day broke i could make out a buck. Heavy horned 15 inch 8pt. Dang nice deer with long brows. He was just hanging out at 40yd. Eventually it got light and enough to see he was standing guard over a bedded hot doe and right behind them was a bedded 6pt. Soon after light she got up and they pushed her into the thicket.
I got to breath and switch my weight on my knees for a few minutes. Not long. I caught motion of a big deer coming through the pines. He stopped in the corn at 50ish yds. It was a heavy horned fully mature 8 I have passed several times. 18 inside but tiny brows. He would gave been in trouble if I hadn't used two of my tags. I eased my phone out to take a pic of him for yall and he caught me trying to unlock it. I held the arm still as long as I could but eventually I had to let it down. He snorted and blew out.
I knew that spot was done but only half a mile to one of my food plots so I beat feet back to the truck. 100yds from it was a doe under a red oak. I spared her and hurried across the place. I sneaked in behind a fence row and peeked around. There was a 7pt pushing a hot doe. I watched till he eventually pushed her out of the plot and the sun started getting on me.
I headed back to the house where Carla was frying back strap for breakfast. Thank you Lord for such a fine day.Last edited by GarGuy; 11-12-2020, 07:50 AM.

If I recall you stated it is better than the others and I am definitely in to see that. Plus, getting that statewide max is pretty cool.
Good luck.
