Some of you may know, but I manage a day lease operation. We’ve use the same feeders for the last 16 years. A little upgrade here and a little update there. I’m looking to buy 10 new feeders with a larger holding capacity. Something in the range of 600-700 pounds. I would prefer a shorter feeder so that it’s easier for me and my guys to fill them. Also not too short that the pigs will be tearing the timers off. Also you wouldn’t believe how many times we’ve had timers shot. I’m not partial to any brand just one that works like it’s supposed to. I’m looking to buy these ASAP. Suggestions? Thanks, Brice

I'm a believer in the 600lbs stand and fill from Academy. We have bought 9 over the past 3 years and have had NO issues with them. 4 of them don't have pens around them and the cows and hogs haven't hurt them at all. We did end up having to pour 4-5 bags of concrete under them because the hogs rooted up the ground real bad.

I would recommend the ASF 600 lb stand and fill. They come with everything that you need to set them up minus the corn. The motors are 12 volt and have “The Timer” which imo can’t be beat. They are Coon and hog proof.
I just picked up my third one from Mason Feed store and paid $700 which included 10 bags of corn. I have one more 55 gallon feeder that I will be replacing this weekend with another ASF.
Best of luck to you!

Haven't been out long but we bought one that so far we are impressed with. Academy just came out with a 720lb stand and fill that takes 5-10 min to assemble and comes with the solar panel built in for $499.99. Probably won't last 16 years but for the money it should last plenty long enough to get your money's worth. We also run some The Judge 600lb feeders and they are built to last but are also a lot more expensive.
