How is the deer hunting around Freer?

Possibly getting an opportunity to get on a lease in South Texas at a family friend's 500+ acre ranch. Isn't currently leased and hasn't been leased in the past but they do have blinds and feeders set up feeding corn/protein year round.

Great area. If you head to Far East I think some have said poaching can become a issue but no experience there.

Freer is a cool area! Lots of Wildlilfe. If you live in San Antonio then you should have a short drive to what sounds like a great opportunity.

Well what are you expecting??? Go set up a blind in the high school parking lot and you'll probably see a 150....it's some of the best whitetail hunting in the entire state of Texas.

It all depends on where from Freer. North and West are good. South and East are mostly bad. Really bad.

I hunted south of town on 59, and there was no shortage of large deer down there. I think its either excellent or shot out from what I understand. Just search Freer on here and you'll see some jaw droppers from some of these guys that hunt that area.

My rule of thumb on freer East of hwy 16 is a no go ( some exceptions but very very few)
44 to 624 is good west of town

We are a little SW of freer. Lower deer numbers then I’m use to but solid quality. Best dove and quail numbers I have ever seen. Great Country
