    Bowfishing Trinity River

Does anybody know where to bowfish the Trinity near Fort Worth? Maybe one of the forks or something? Not familiar with the area but I figured there would probably be a boat ramp or something around here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Only fished it south around Riverside. Fingers off the river were always most productive for us.

I've only fished it south too. I'm wondering if there's anywhere north to fish?

Not Trinity but Denton creek up by Aero Valley Airport downstream 1/3 mile from the old bridge that caved in. Big rock hole that gets full of huge gar every spring when the water is high and muddy. Also great spot for channel and crappie.
Google Earth might show a way in from the east side. I think the road has been closed off from the west.

Here's pic of where I'm talking about. Requires some walking.
I caught a long nose gar there about 20 years ago that would have eclipsed any world record had I known at the time. Est 50+ lbs and seen by several people.
Watch out for hogs. Place may be infested.

Do you know of a boat ramp near that area, or is the creek too shallow. Also is the land public? Just wondering about your hog statement. Thanks though, I was just looking at the same map trying to figure out where you were talking about.

Looks like you could go in thru Aero Valley if you walked in. I used to see guys bow fishing from the banks up there. As for puttin in a boat, I don't know. You can put in off of 377 but there is a levy just west of the highway that you can't get over unless you carry the boat over and around. That levy would be another good spot I would think and easy to get to.

Just remembered that when the creeks are up you can put a john boat in at Elizabeth creek there on hwy 114 and work your way up. I have heard the fishing is good at the intersection of the 2 creeks. I know some folks that used to walk in from 114 but it's a long hike.

Thanks a bunch for this information. You are getting me fired up. The creeks may be up after the rain we had today. We'll see. Do I need to take you as a guide?

Thanks but I don't have a bow fishing rig.
You'll do alright on yer own. Go scout it out.

Tipps, sometime if you need a partner, I'd love to try bowfishing. Ain't got no rig but I could put off buy guns and ammo for a while and get one.
