Kimble County/Junction Rut activity

We sure didn’t see any rut activity last weekend. Will be heading up mid next week.

Gentleman that hunts there is there now and claims to be seeing activity. All I know...

We hunt near Roosevelt. Fawns don't start hitting the ground until July. Rut is later than normal.

Always hit and miss. I've seen Segovia/Junction deer go into rut around this time. Most recent was 2018. I have a 340 mile drive, so like to ask around for info.

Just got back from Kimbell County between Junction and Telegraph on the South Llano, bucks are looking but did not see a lot of rutting activity.

Yesterday morning showed signs that our rut is kicking off. Young bucks sparring and chasing does off corn.

We are near London and I just got home. Our herd is fighting, scraping, rubbing and chasing. It is about to go down for sure. Bucks with nose to the ground following/chasing all weekend. Heck, the only thing I did not see was breeding.

No sign of the rut in the Segovia area this past weekend. Does were starting to kick the fawns off and the bucks were starting to swell but we didn’t see any chasing at all. My guess is we are pretty close. Thanksgiving week should be very good.

Just got back from lease south of I10 off 83. Saw young bucks chasing / harassing does but no bucks over 3 years old have shown. It's close as others have said but could be Thanksgiving week or the week after.

All I shot this trip was a porcupine. At least I made a good shot on him with my bow ��

In segovia, doe have shed fawns. Young bucks on the move. Have seen some mature bucks moving that had previously only been nocturnal. However, big target bucks are still moving by night only.
