    Foreverlast control unit issue.

I purchased two of the Foreverlast 12v Control Unit last year. Yesterday while sitting on one of my setups, I noticed that the control unit motor barley spins and is making a grinding noise. The slow spin is causing the gate plate spinner to stay open wasting the a lot of feed. The battery is attached to a solar panel and shows 100% in the timer display. I think the motor is about to give up. Is there a warranty on the motor. Is anyone else experience anything similar. I replaced the 6v control units that were close to 10 years for the Foreverlast 12v units based on reviews and not expected to give me issues after a season.

Personally, I’d contact Foreverlast by phone & email and advise of the motor problems. I’m sure they will make it right

All of those type feeder set ups get corn dust down on the motor shaft. A shot of some wd40 type oit usually frees it motor up.

Thanks for the info, could be the reason why the motor barely spins the plate and is making the sound since the motor is getting resistance from the stuck shaft.

I'd try a new battery first

              This^^^
Batteries can read both Good and Bad and be exactly opposite. Throw a known good battery on it before anything IMO.

You may want to jumper battery power directly to the motor to rule out possible controller issue. I always keep spare batteries at deer camp. Some little alligator test clips make this task easier. Also sometimes mud daubers can make nests in the opening of the motor causing it to drag. Had this happen last week, front of motor looked good but the back motor winding vent was full of dirt which got into the motor itself. I use a couple paper towels balled up in a walmart bag stuffed into the funnel to hold the corn in the feeder so I can remove the entire control box and replace the motor. Good luck

I’m thinking battery issue also. Mine did something similar. Changed out the battery and all was good.

Replaced battery and still same issue, the motor shaft spins freely by hand. I still sprayed some DW40 on shaft but I think is the motor is about to give up.

I contacted Kelli @ Forevelast and she is going to send me a replacement motor.

                        Excellent Customer Service.

Grinding sounds like a bad bearing or gears in the motor, not the battery.
