Well after unloading, getting situated, talking stand/wind strategies and shooting bows a little. We are finally in the stand.

It's very warm 79deg with a pretty strong SSE wind. Pretty unusual for here this time of the year.

I'm in a new stand, The Rub Post, that we set up in July. It's a genera area we have hunted for years but each year adjust the set up the more we learn. It's located close to River bottom on radar of cut corn field with several close bedding locations.

Hopefully the deer get up and start moving soon.

Spotted a buck down towards river in all the heavy brush. He's acting like there's a down in there.

Just had a close encounter with a shooter buck. Huge bodied big framed 9. Had him at 37 yards but very little room to shoot. And didn't know range or I might have had one small opening. Once he entered corn field he spotted and some l does and never looked back. Exciting first hunt so far.

Truck drove through the corn field and spooked the deer toward my setup but I only saw the young buck and 2 does. Never did see where the big 9 Travis had in front of him went.

Young buck and 2 does came back out onto corn field about 10 mins ago
