    What's it called?

When you cut a hole in a piece of bread and crack an egg in it and fry it that way? There's a name for it but I don't remember what it is.

My mom used to call them Hobo Eggs.

They lived right by the railroad tracks in the 40s and 50s and would let the guys sleep in their garage between train rides when it was cold outside. Western New York. Her mom (my grandma) would cook them this for breakfast in the morning and then they'd be on their way... usually never to be seen again. Hence the name ... hobo eggs.

                  My, how times have changed.

Oh yeah that's what it was except I heard it called hobo toast. I thought the name was kinda funny the first time I heard that. I thought it was actually made up but apparently not.

Egg in a nest, also heard it referred to as a crows nest.
