Headed out to grab a quick bite.
I’m swapping back to the farm where I passed the 9 point on our first evening here.
Clark will be back on this farm.
Splitting properties to get a better idea of what the deer are doing.

Been set up for a while.
I’m back on the farm we hunted Sunday evening.
Set up in the same area just in a South wind stand.
Ol Jack made the switch too. He is set up and ready to scrap!
Clark is back on our other farm and set up in the stand I hunted this morning.
Pretty solid South wind blowing back into a hay field.
Got cut bean field to my East and that’s where we have seen most of the deer on this property. Lots of CRP on this property as well.
Clouds are rolling in so I hope that helps with a little earlier movement.

Pretty slow here this evening.
Just the 1 Doe so far.
Hit the horns a few times with zero results.
Gonna put the phone up till dark.
I’ll update when I get to the truck.

What an awesome hunt!
Nothing killed but I passed on a really pretty 130’s 10 point.
I’ll post pics when I get back to camp.
Woods came alive 20 min before dark!!!

Recap...
30 min before dark I had 3 does & a yearling step out in the beans at 175 yards. Feed across the field headed South. 3 min later, another doe steps out and follows suit. 2 min later I see a big body step out. Throw the binos up and I see a decent frame. Grab the grunt and hit a tending sequence. Here he comes. Across the beans to the wood line, makes a scrape and straight to me. Crosses the creek and sees the decoy. While this is happening, more deer are pouring out of the woods but I stay focused on the 10 point.
I see him look back and a spike is coming in to from the East. Had the 10 pnt @ 40, 30 & 25 yards. Spike was super curious and checked out the decoy up close and personal. But no physical contact.
10 pnt is a Really pretty buck. I would guess a solid 3 yr old.
Headed back there in the morning.
Great hunt this evening!!!
