My Australian Shepherd ate the green Tomcat rat poison a few months ago. We gave him peroxide to induce vomiting. He threw up quite a bit of green stuff/poison. We then followed that by administering activated charcoal. Its a powder that you mix with water. it leaches on to poisons/foreign substances in your GI track and you poop it out. WE keep it on hand in case we eat something bad. Me and my wife swear by it. We did that every 6 hours or so for a day or two and he has been fine.

My sister has a small 30 pound dog. He ate an entire bag which had 16 cubes in it. They did not find out until he was pooping out green, meaning it was already thru his entire system. They took him to the vet and he spent 2 nights there. They induced vomiting, did a charcoal cleanse, and multiple enemas. They did save him though. There is no antidote for this particular poison.

There is now a poison on the market made from corn starch. Basically bounds the rats up. Safe if your pet eats it. We put it out now .

My lab has done this twice. Vet said first time to give him a teaspoon of peroxide every 5 min until he pukes. Took like 20 min to get him to puke. The second time I just dumped peroxide in his mouth until he puked. both times he was sick for a couple hours but back to hunting later in the day. I didn't give him any special foods or vitamins afterward. I am a lot more careful whenever I go anywhere my Dad might have mice. He has that poison everywhere.

Had a couple of dogs eat poison over the years, I always keep a giant syringe with no needle and a bottle of hydrogen peroxide handy to induce vomiting , only had one die
It’s usually the younger dogs that eat it , so I try to stay vigilant about wiring it up out of reach

If there's any to be found my beagle will find it quick! His eyes turn red like a bad hangover but he's usually fine a full day later.

Next time I'll try HP and see what he pukes up.
