I agree with the oil filled radiator heater. They are slow to get warm, so don't expect then to heat the trailer quickly, but they work great.

Does your RV furnace not work? Ours heats our 38' camper up in minutes, which is why I ask. I also know lots of folks swap out the camper thermostat for a digital thermostat because the coleman t-stats are garbage at holding a consistent temp.
In our pop up, we swapped the t-stat, and had heated mattresses, and our son had a ceramic heater on his side. That was enough to be warm all night.

May play with running extension cords through out the camper to get the heater on a different breaker from everything else or isolated. This was what I had to do in my 30 ft when I had it. ran big ceramic in kitchen/dining room on one breaker, and ran a cord from the toy hauler area to the front to run a mini heater for the bed room.

We use an older model of this one. Works well in ours, has the safety plug and anti-tip shutoff.

Originally posted by SteveearThis RV heater from Handy works really well for the camper. I bought it to plugin but my plug was a little low in my teardrop so I decided to mount it up a bit higher and use a 3 foot 10amp ( 16 GA) extension cord. I tested the unit and it pulls under 4 amps on high speed then drops to under 1 amp when only the fan is blowing. The controls are easy to use. My camper is only 15X7 and it heats it up very quickly. The heater is very lightweight. The unit pulls airflow from the bottom thus it is designed to plug directly into the wall. Also, the plugin the back rotates in case your outlet is upside down or sideways, the heater could still be positioned vertically.

These are 500watts and work amazingly well. Take time to heat a big space but once it gets it heated it maintains its well

All I use are space heaters. I have only ran the furnace in my RV one time in the 3 years I’ve had it. I have one oil filled radiator one and one just common electric space heater from Walmart. The radiator one takes longer to get going, but once it does, it’s the better heater I do like the ability to set a temperature in my other heater though, that way it shuts off when it hits temp.

My family and I are full timers and this is what we use.
In the master bedroom we have an older, small electric heater that pulls 500 watts on low. It stays on low and the thermostat cycles it on and off as needed. To make it so we don’t hear it cycling, we keep a tower fan running as well.
In the bathroom, we have a small 250 watt electric heater running all the time when it’s cold. It does not have a thermostat so it’s only on or off.
In the mid bunk, I found a small pink heater for our daughter that pulls 400 watts. It too does not have a thermostat so it’s only on or off.
In the living room, our RV came with an electric fireplace. It puts out either 5k or 7.5k BTU. We keep the thermostat in it set to 70 degrees(it only does 5 degree increments).
We keep the furnace set to around 63-65 degrees just in case it gets down to freezing or below. This not only keeps the inside comfortable but it also prevent the basement where the water lines and connections are from dipping below freezing.
So far this has worked great for us with zero tripped breakers. However, the coldest we have seen is 21.
