    Vortex Diamondback Scope

I recently bought a Vortex Diamondback tactical last year to put on my 25-06 and I was excited. I had it bore sighted and then tried to sight it in at 50 yards starting out. I could get close to the bullseye, but it wasn’t grouping very well. I just blamed it on the gun since the scope was brand new and kinda left it as is. Well I tried to see if I could get it sighted in at 100 yards and it was everywhere. It would shoot from the top to the bottom of a 4x8 sheet of plywood. After wasting a box of shells, I really just blamed it on the gun again, but the gun was shooting fine before I got the new scope.

My buddy got the exact same scope on a brand new browning x-bolt .300 win mag. He is having the exact same problems as me. After hearing my buddy’s problems, it leads me to think it has to be the scope.

Has anyone else had any problems with the Vortex Diamondback tactical scope?

.....but they have a great warranty.

To answer your question, yes. Just fought one for a guy this weekend. Replaced scope, no more problems.

I ended up just getting my money back on the tactical line. The parallax adjustment was broke out of the box. Returned it, got a new one mounted and the scope wasn’t tracking, and parallax broke on second shot. I returned it and just got money back. I think vortex makes a great scope, just they have QC issues on their lower line of scopes.

Make sure the rings are torqued to the proper inch pounds. The most consistent problem I have seen is too much and unequal tightening of the rings. Most guys just crank down on them and call it good. You need to use an inch pounds screwdriver.
