    Catfish gurus?

We rented a place on Lake LBJ for a few months. I started spoiling some hen scratch. Will throwing this in 5ft of water be effective or do I need to get in boat and get a little deeper? It would be nice to just sit at the dock. Having surgery in a few weeks and gonna be limited to the dock

Put it, in a weighted burlap bag...………..(It'll stay together longer)
And tie it, directly under the dock...………
      And stand by...………..

Range cubes are easier and work just as well as soured grain. Especially in a long term scenario. It takes them about a half a day to find them. No need to bag them just pour them in and they sink like rocks. I think they last a lot longer also. I dump a 50# bag at a time.

Just my experience and have used a lot of both. Until I discovered range cubes.

Judging by your picture and description, I'd say you're in one of those no wrong answers scenarios.

I’ll get a bag of cubes tomorrow. Easy to throw every day. Really a saltwater guy but gotta take what life throws me. Figure it will be a good place to heal up that is close to wife’s work

Threw out a couple cups of spoiled chicken scratch. Punch bait from a local and they started biting after about 30 minutes. Kept 2 for tonight. Caught 5

My in-laws live on lake lbj by the dam. They hand feed every other day or so with floating purina cat fish pellets right off the dock (under their boat on a cradle lift) always brings in a bunch. They have done ranch cubes too, but prefer the top feeding action the floating pellets allow. If you feed them for a week or so, they'll show up!
