    Air Layering Plants (Persimmon)

I stumbled upon some mature persimmon at my farm that I never knew I had. At first I though heck I'll try to grow some from seeds and then heard that's a bit challenging. Then I was going to grow from clippings, also seems challenging. I've now been watching videos on "air layering," seems easy enough to do. May or may not work but what's it hurt. Has anyone done air layering with good success? And has anyone tried persimmons?

Never tried persimmons but don't see why it wouldn't work.
Have done many other plants. You want to hurry if doing this year. Want to be actively growing for best success.
I scratch the bark with an old fork (lengthwise) a bit and soak the moss in dilute root stimulator to help. Make sure you cover it so sun doesn't burn the new roots.

Yeah seems easy enough. I think I'd be pushing it trying to do it this year so I'm going to do it next spring. Just curious if anyone has tried it or has any tips.

Don’t you have to have a male and female plant for them to pollinate each other ? I have tried them before with no luck .

I see you are in Lindale

If you want to dig some saplings you can holler

If they pop up in my pastures (probably from a coyote ****) they can't be too hard to grow
