    Math Problem

    Been far to long since I've used any geometry. Figured one of you brainiacs could help:

    E is Between K and T
    KE=5
    KT=3x-1
    TE=13

    Solve for X.

    Hmmm. I guess it's been too long.

    If KE=5 and TE=12, then X=6..... but with TE=13, I'm stumped.

      If KE=5 and TE=13, then KT=18.

      Therefore, 3x-1=18
      3x=19
      x=6.33

        Yep, I'm dumb lol. That shouldn't have been that hard.

          If KE=5 and ET=13 then KT=18

          18=3x-1
          +1 +1
          19=3x
          /3 /3

          19/3 = x
          6.33333=x

            I assume that KE means the distance from K to E.
            If E is between K and T (on the same line), then KE + TE = KT.
            Substituting in the expression for each, 5 + 13 = 3x-1
            18 = 3x-1
            19 = 3x
            x = 19/3 = 6.3333
            Right?

                KE[5]+TE[13] = KT[3x-1]

                5+13 = 3x-1

                18 = 3x-1
                18+1 = 3x
                19 = 3x
                19/3 = x
                x =6.333

                  Good job Brad, even I could follow that.

                      Really doubting that’s useful in my line. And AutoCad has ruined me.
                      Lol
                      I was overthinking it.

                        I'm still stuck in the M and G code world. Just give me a print with all of the dimensions on it and I'm good. Those fancy computer programs drive me nuts!

                          Easy to draw a line segment, then do the algebra.

                          . . .
                          K. 5. E. 13. T
                          3x-1 =18

                          X = 19/3

                            I am too for the most part. But on some parts its waaaaay faster.
