Highly recommend Mike Cox in Dripping Springs. He’s former LE and former CIA and came highly recommend by a number of people we talked to. He has both a classroom set up and a small pistol range on his place, so no having to go to two locations to complete the course.
His classes are enjoyable as he has years of interesting anecdotes from which to draw so things are never boring and the day goes by quickly. On the gun range, he’ll often give the more experienced shooters a few free pointers on improving their skills. I learned a lot.
Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll dig up his contact info.

You can pretty much do a lot of it online now:
- Class room online (https://onlinetexasltc.com)
- Application online (https://txapps.texas.gov/txapp/txdps/ltc/)
For the proficiency test:
- Use this (https://onlinetexasltc.com/proficiency-demonstration/)
