I bought a Groupon for a place in Georgetown. He had a shooting range at his property. No complaints.

Highly recommend Mike Cox in Dripping Springs. He’s former LE and former CIA and came highly recommend by a number of people we talked to. He has both a classroom set up and a small pistol range on his place, so no having to go to two locations to complete the course.

His classes are enjoyable as he has years of interesting anecdotes from which to draw so things are never boring and the day goes by quickly. On the gun range, he’ll often give the more experienced shooters a few free pointers on improving their skills. I learned a lot.

Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll dig up his contact info.

Where I got mine. The owner is very vocal for gun rights in Texas. Frequently giving em hell at the Capitol

Thanks guys. Sent the recommendations to my "liberal" brother in law. He said he had enough and wants a gun and licence.

You can pretty much do a lot of it online now:
                    - Class room online (https://onlinetexasltc.com)
                    - Application online (https://txapps.texas.gov/txapp/txdps/ltc/)

                    For the proficiency test:
                    - Use this (https://onlinetexasltc.com/proficiency-demonstration/)

I did a groupon and was fine and cheaper. But I sat through the class with my wife at guns plus and learned quite a bit. Really good class

He sounds like my coworkers in Austin that have asked me this same question.

Most of my coworkers wanted a minority owned place as they wanted to carry but didn't want to give money to your stereotypical 2a supporter.
