Got out to the property this weekend in hopes of getting a shot at my target buck. Whitetail doe and exotics were on the hit list as well. Opening morning hunt got busted by a big group of pigs. Took care of them. Saturday evening saw some young bucks nothing special. Sunday morning at first light had some sika doe eating at the feeder. They eased off and the young bucks from Saturday started moving in. About 20 minutes after the young bucks starting eating, I look down the hill and my target buck is heading in. Wasn’t really expecting him because the last picture I had of him was in early august. He comes in and I was waiting for the perfect shot for me and for the camera so I could capture it on video. As I’m about to draw, they all start looking back behind the feeder. Here come the sika again. The bucks haul outta there for some reason. Never seen the whitetail being scared of sika but of course has to happen now lol. So after that, I decided to take one of the sika does. She was 33 yards quartering away. Hit her good, ended up running about 50 yards with an amazing blood trail. I wasn’t too bummed because I was still able to get my first exotic kill with a bow! Sorry for the crappy phone pics, I was by myself and couldn’t get my big camera to take some quality photos.
