Looking at my first cellular trail cam. Ok, but not great service. Functionality is most important, followed by durability. Thanks in advance.

Cellular Game Cam Question
7 Coverts Code Blacks here... 4 run 365, 2 I use for spot duty like in our favorite turkey areas right before turkey season and one is a LTE spare . Pretty much trouble free as long as I do the updates and I do my part to ensure the service is good. I’m still working on one area that can be 80% percent one minute and 0% the next like the cell tower is spinning around like a boat radar. [emoji848][emoji3061]
Like FND said, your camera antenna will be much stronger than your cell phone antenna so keep that in mind.
2 of those cameras are 2016s, one 2017s, 3 2018 LTEs and 1 2019 LTE.Last edited by Smart; 10-06-2020, 06:44 AM.

It was struggling to get really good service so I put a cheap bingfu antenna on it with a 10' pole and wal-la great service. One thing to note is that if you don't have good service where you are but your phone somewhat gets service your camera will likely say "no service" in the setup mode. However I found that if I just turned the camera to "on" and just left it, it would send me pictures just fine.

You must be a $99 guy. Hope they last forever. I really do but don’t see it happening.

I have 3 moultries and one cheap spypoint. You do get what you pay for. I am very happy with the moultries. They do not miss anything. The cheap spypoint does miss stuff. Doesn't always flash when it should. I'm gonna move the spypoint off a trail and onto a feeder so that fast trigger speed is not critical. This is my 2nd year with the moultries and I just bought 2 more. First year with the spypoint.

I've been using a Bigfoot camera for 3 years now and haven't had an issue with the camera. The few issues I had with setting it up I called the customer service and they were great. They even called me back a few day's later to see if it worked. https://www.bigfootcameras.com/

I've really had great results from my Covert Code Black. I was a bit hesitant to spend the money on the camera and setup, but after reading many reviews here and elsewhere, I bit the bullet and I have to say that I've been very impressed- no hiccups whatsoever, excellent picture quality and trigger speeds. Love the app and overall ease of use. Using the solar panel and rechargeable battery setup with T-mate and T-shade and I expect to get several years of use of out of it without having to touch it whatsoever. I do plan to buy several more.
My thought on the lesser expensive makes/models is that competition between the various manufacturers is increasing, the tech is improving, and as a result quality and prices are improving. These things have been around for a little while now. That trend should continue.
