    Doe factory

I have placed cameras in two areas and except for two yearling bucks, all I’m seeing are does. I am hoping bachelor groups will be breaking up and spreading out a bit. Anyone else seeing this?

Pretty common this time of the year. But i agree i feel like our place is the worst for this our neighbor has more bottomn land and always has pictures of big buck. We always have pics of a bazillion does.

I have one spot that's all does and fawns and another that's all bucks on camera. The bucks seem to like the more secluded spot.

Does taste good. Come the rut, I like having does around.

Sounds like a nursery. While the big bucks probably don't live there with them, they'll be scent checking them soon enough.

Gotta have does for the bucks when the rut starts.

Where the does are the bucks will be soon.

We have a place we call the nursery on our lease because most of the time it is nothing but does and fawns. Once the rut starts bucks will start passing through checking though.

I have that same problem until rut time and then I have lots of bucks.

I would take having does over buck during early season. This usually results in the bucks being in the area when the rut starts.

Thanks for all the replies. I returned to deer hunting after growing up in East Texas. There I hunted Davy Crockett National Forest and a few friends’ properties. I liked the National Forest a lot. Lots of dense places in old clear cuts and with some leg work, good hunts. I’m hunting Coleman on a lease the past two years and it is very different than hunting scraps and rubs. You’re restricted to fixed blinds and I am deployed cameras to see which blinds are producing.
I knew there would be lots of does. The properties on 2 of the 4 sides are not hunted and suspect the bucks are in there. I know the does are traveling from these locales. I was more nervous the bucks would hold tight and still think they might with some venturing out during the rut. Your responses make me feel a bit better. Last year I saw bucks the first and last two weeks of season. I as thinking the bucks were corralling the does in the adjacent properties last year.

Everyone of those does will get bred by a buck. I don’t see what the problem is. The bucks will find them. You just have to be around when they do.

Having the same thing at our place. Hoping it changes when the rut happens.
