Like I posted on the other TBH thread, Oakland is bad. If my car ever broke down off 880 in the nasty parts of Oakland, I'd abandon it and not hang around to meet the locals. Several years ago a friend of ours said they had a house from the estate of a deceased relative in Oakland (it used to be an industrial city, always blue collar but not this bad) that had done stained glass windows for churches, and they found many in the back of the detached garage blocked by other junk, and wanted to get them.

I told him if he wanted, I'd come help, but only if I could bring my slug gun with 00 and do guard duty while they loaded it up, the house wound up being on a street that were crack houses and shooting galleries for druggies. The criminals are armed, and law abiding people can not get a CHL in any of the bay area counties (rural counties in Cali give them out with paperwork, course and fees).

There's a reason the Oakland Raider fans always seems to be 'bad' when you see them on tv- many of them are.

God bless those police officers and their families.

An extensive criminal history wanted on a no bail warrant
          - what are people like this doing out of jail when will our justice system learn that folks with "extensive criminal histories" are not going to become law abiding citizens - my heart and prayers go out for the families and friends of these officers. Very sad.

I was out of town most of last week and did not hear this news until this morning. Sad sad day. Prayers for the families left behind.

How can anyone do this? Truely sad.

The sister of Lovelle Mixon, the shooter of four Oakland officers over the weekend, is facing charges in Fremont today of being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Mixon was arrested Tuesday on a bench warrant stemming from the October 2008 case in Fremont, according to court records, and will be arraigned this afternoon at the Fremont Hall of Justice.

God bless the families and the Oakland Police Dept. This has to be a very emotional week. It just goes to show that there is no such thing as a "routine traffic stop." Prayers sent!

These people are a case-in-point why some animals eat their young. Makes me sick to my stomach. One hour north of me, and another world away (thanks be to God).

They were marching and protesting today in support of the killer of the police, saying the Oakland PD practiced genocide.

There was one quote in the article that I wholeheartedly agree with.

Lolo Darnell, one of Mixon's cousins at the demonstration, said, "He needs sympathy too. If he's a criminal, everybody's a criminal."

You go, girl. Ya'll hit the nail on the head
