It's just weird that a nubbin' buck is digging up every old post there is about texting/messaging and constantly recommending Whatsapp. Then including a link to click on.

I use Whatsapp when in Hong Kong. I think thats where it is mostly used, because Wechat is heavily monitored by Chinese Government.

It’s used all over the world. I’ve worked in several places and WhatsApp is the most popular texting app.

I have a android and when someone sends me a video from an iPhone it's so small and the quality sucks. With the app it's very clear.

If you have enough friends on WhatsApp, and if they are in other countries, communication is much easier than FaceTime/Skype/etc. I don't use it but I know people who do. Never had a need for it.

My jobsite has really slow internet, dial up speeds...I can FaceTime with WA when my iPhone FaceTime won’t even connect. Pictures come through much easier as well.

It’s encrypted as well, if that matters.
