I drew Alazan Bayou with only 1 point. I saw the previous year had about 350 or so applicants, and with 32 permits, I figured I had about a 10% at drawing it. I've since learned about the cubing of points, so there's a chance that with 1 ticket in the hat and someone who had applied 5 times having 125 tickets, this may have been a super rare feat. Anyone else ever draw a hunt with 1 point?

I applied for White Oak Creek this year for the first time. Deer either sex, only had one point and got drawn. Me who has done this drawing thing since the mid to late 1900s and was never drawn until last year. That hunt I was not able to go on, so I did not pay for the permit. I chose the White Oak Creek hunt about three times and deleted it three times, before deciding to go ahead and buy a ticket for that hunt and got it. I am betting that will be the only one I am drawn for this year. Normally I pick every mule deer hunt there is, so far, never been drawn for any of those hunts. I used to put in for the desert big horn, but don't waist my money on that hunt anymore. That would be a dream, but know, I have very close to .00000000000% chance of getting drawn for that one, so I quit paying for a ticket for that one.Comment

sorry, I didn't have any one point categories. Next year I will. I got drawn for GDE at Guadalupe River with 10 and National Refuge GD, Balcones with 5. I turned down the National Refuge because of a nephew's wedding and kinda ticked off about applying for the Guadalupe River cause I've hunted there a couple of times and it generally sucked. Hope this time is different. At least its less than an hour from home.Comment
