Got the letter in mail this week. I don’t have an issue upholding my civic duty. But the problem , my wife and I have had an anniversary trip planned for a while. You guessed it. Right in the same time frame. From the GS’s experience, what are the chances they let me off if I write that as a reason to not be considered this time?

Had that come up one time when I had a business trip & wrote the judge an email & sent copies of the plane fair...was kinda bummed as I was sorta looking forward to seeing the process.

A positive Covid test should get you out of it.

Go get tested a few times, one of them is bound to come up positive.

Just toss the letter in the trash. The post office loses tons of mail.

They should give you another date if you contact them. I had to have my date rescheduled before.

Federal jury duty is seriously enforced by federal judges. I would not recommend ignoring the summons.

Enforced by Federal Judges through the muscle of US Marshals.

I would also recommend against blowing it off.

Will depend on the judge. Explain what is going on, and see what he says. I have done it, it worked in my favor!
