Over the last few years of planting food plots, I've tried planting around the prediction of rain and then it doesn't happen. So that takes more time and money reseeding.
Well, I did some planting last Wednesday for the 40% chance of rain that was predicted on Thursday as there wasn't suppose to be anymore rain chances for at least a couple of weeks. I held back about 50% of the seed in case it didn't rain. Ended up get .2 of an inch of rain, so not much but it helped.
Then all of a sudden comes 90% and 80% chance of rain for this Monday and Tuesday. So, yesterday I spread out the rest of the seed I had.
It is a nice rain coming down that should soak the ground and seed. Can't wait to start seeing the seed heads pop up next week.
(crossing fingers that I don't get too much of a good thing and the plot get flooded)
