We are a solid month away from good pre rut activity here in Southeast Iowa. Rubs and scrapes have just started appearing in the last few days. The seasons opens October 1st, but the strong pre rut activity will be October 20th thru Halloween. From Halloween thru Thanksgiving there will be some crazy rut action. We have been having some nights in the 40s which is already getting the deer on their feet earlier in the evening and keeping them up a little after daylight.
