    Bow for the wife

My wife is showing some interest in slangin arrows, she has never shot before and will probably not be stopping any heart beats. I am a Hoyt guy but my kids shoot Mission so I am not stuck on a brand. What bow do yall recommend?

Let her go shot some and see what feels good to her.

Find a used Mathews Avail. Both my wife and stepson shoot them. Fabulous little bow. Easy to switch mods to adjust draw length.

PSE Stinger is a decent shooting, cheap, forgiving starter rig

I read that title wrong ... thought you were asking someone to trade a bow for your wife ... guess I am tired

See you're in Spring. Take her to Texas Archery (the old Bow Zone) and talk to Richard and ask to get Richard's wife Kay (also at the shop) to help your wife. Kay is a real pro at getting folks started in archery and she will start her off with a good bow, good form and will be outshooting you QUICK!! Seriously, I think your wife would benefit greatly from shooting different bows and they have them all at Texas Archery. That's how I got my wife started and she's a killer with her Mathews Ignition that we got there many years ago. They have a good selection of new/used bows. You might want to start with something like a Diamond or Mission that has a good hard stop at the end of the draw. This will help her get used to drawing and shooting more quickly. My wife did not like the bows that did not have a hard back stop on the draw. Being a beginner, she could never tell when to quit drawing...

Thanks yall, we rolling to the bow shop Saturday morning. Figure its a good opportunity for the whole family to shoot on the range while we are there.

Call em and tell 'em you're coming and about what time so Kay will be available to show your wife different set ups, new and used... 281-443-0066
If you make an appointment, you might get in and out quicker. It can be a madhouse on the weekends this time of year! If Richard is not available for whatever reason, Joey is VERY good too.
