    South Carolina Hog Hunt

Just got back from a 2 day hog hunt in Dalzell, SC and saw no hogs. Guy had 650 acres with some swampland with 2 mechanical feeders that looked empty to me. He threw out half a bucket of corn when we posted up but did offer a free one day hunt if we wanted to come back another day. What do you think--how bad did I get screwed--should I leave negative feedback--I thought a hog hunt was supposed to pretty much be a slam dunk with the right baiting schedule.

No it wasn't Bostick--but I did go there last year on a combo hog and turkey hunt which they failed to mention could not be over baited stands because it was turkey season although I don't see why they couldn't have put out donuts or bagels etc and the hogs would have sucked them up. Needless to say no hogs on that hunt and very few turkeys--the reason was "too early in the season yet"

Yessir my next hog hunt will definitely be in Texas--and I'd really like some recommendations as to the best place to go that might offer the most shot opportunities. Thanks in advance.

As hog tend to move around from place to place...... no it isn't a slam dunk. If the feeders were in fact empty, then you aren't gonna see hogs. A handful of throw corn won't make it past the birds and squirrels.

I don't know if I would slam the place, just maybe wouldn't hunt there again and right it off as lesson learned.
Come to Texas and kill all you want!!! We are over run with 'em.

you probably would have had better luck on texas public lands compared to your horror story. sorry to hear about that considering you all the way to SC.

No hunt should be a slam dunk, If it were it wouldnt be hunting. I would at a minimum at least expect to see some hogs or at least tons of fresh sign.
