I'm going to preface this by saying I HATE the idea of buying a brand new vehicle. I am aware of the immediate devaluing as you drive it off the lot, etc. The last new vehicle I bought was my 2007 F150 (which I still drive), and simply because the dealership gave me an offer I couldn't refuse. I actually flew out of state to buy our last 2 used vehicles from individuals, and paid with cash.
That said, I'm extremely impressed with the new 2021 Subaru Crosstrek with the larger engine, and am considering biting the bullet and just buying one for my wife.
I have no desire to play the dealership games. I want to pay cash, yet still get the best deal available. I know some folks work with fleet managers, but I don't think that would apply to the Subaru brand.
I'm looking for tips, tricks, and strategies for buying a new car with as minimal hassle and drama possible. I don't want to sit in a dealership for half a day (or longer), and want to avoid all the back and forth with managers, finance, etc. I'd love to hear your tactics.
Thanks!
