    Golden Retriever Breeder Recommendations

Looking to buy a Golden Retriever puppy and need help with recommendations for a good breeder. I have searched previous post on this topic but any information to help in our search would be greatly appreciated! Located in the Dallas area but I do not mind driving if need be.

Thank you to everyone in advance!

    Highly recommend https://goldenlochkennel.com/

Deborah Blackwell has outstanding dogs. Not cheap but great pedigrees and beautiful dogs. She is in Grapeland.

We got Cali from her in 2018.

I would highly recommend looking into Creed Goldens. They are located in FTW and they are family friends of my wife. We are currently looking at adding our name to their waiting list.

Creed Goldens - we are your premier golden retriever breeder servicing Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. Current and upcoming litters of golden retriever puppies suited for family pets, service dogs, therapy dogs, and hunting dogs. Puppy delivery available across the United States. Golden retriever male standing at stud.

If you want a performance bred Golden, contact Roger and Kay Fuller (http://www.kcbeefmasters.com/ContactUs.html), look up their KC Dogs. They have outstanding lines of well bred Goldens!!!

What you might be better off seeking is a good breeding vs a good breeder. Good performance bitches are often bred only once or twice in their lives, often by owner/trainer/handler amateurs that have one or two dogs, vs professional breeding kennels that focus on breeding schedules targeting regular availability of litters. Either can be good, just suggesting you don't restrict your search. This isn't like buying a Ford because Ford makes great trucks. Pups are a product of parentage. Of course, some breeders have a proven knack at choosing great breeding partners. A great breeding from a great breeder could be the ticket.

This is going to be the best performence golden breeder you're going to find anywhere in the south. Top 3 in the country I would argue. And great folks to boot. They may not sell pups to non performence homes though. I'm not sure.

Thank you everyone! I have reached out to all of the recommendations. Roger Fuller is a stand up guy. Mud Shark you are correct, they really do not like to sell the pups to non performence homes, there is still a slight possibility to get a pup being it would be a working dog but they really try not to sell to dogs that are strictly going to be family pets. Creed Goldens have a waiting list that is backed up to Fall 2021. If anyone has another recommendations I am all ears. Still waiting to hear back from Old Red Kennels and Millennium Retrievers.

Check out entryexpress.net classifieds > Puppies > Golden Retrievers. This site is geared toward "Performance Homes, i.e. people who run field trials or hunt tests. Still, you'll see ads for good hunting dogs. Learn about health checks, titles, pedigrees. Consider what your needs are, i.e. high drive vs laid back, be aware of temperament issues to avoid, and code phrases and what they really mean. For example, "For experienced handlers only" might be translated as "This crazy SOB will drag you around like a rag doll if you don't get on top of him day 1". Be honest with breeders and they can steer you toward the right breeding. And remember, "John Smith" may have pups as good as or better than "Big Ego Goldens". If you don't understand those crazy abbreviations like ENS, WCX, QAA, CERF, OFA, you're not ready to choose a litter yet.

Check out sooner puppies in Oklahoma. We got our daughters golden from them almost 2 years ago. She is a great dog. They are more geared towards family dogs.

The only reason I will get my next golden from old red kennels is because I want a golden with more hunting pedigree. However my current golden from sooner puppies does everything I need her to do while we are in the field.
