    Daily Bible Portion (Sunday)

    Daily Bible Portion - 1 of 7
    "SEE"

    (Weekly Reading>>Deuteronomy 11:26-16:17, Isaiah 44:11-45:5, 1 Corinthians 5:9-13, 1 John 4:1-6)

Review: In the last three portions, Moses has disclosed to the Children of Israel all the Words of Yahweh, which were purposed to transform Yahweh’s children into a nation of priests representing His Heavenly Kingdom on earth. Walking in this identity beforehand would be the key to living in peace/shalom when they got to the Promised Land.

Approximately forty years earlier, Moses gave these instructions, called the Gospel, to the parents of these Israelites. When they chose to ignore the message, Yahweh refused them entry into the Promised Land. They lived out the remainder of their lives in the desert. A generation later, Yahweh again offered the Gospel as a gift to their children with the same promised inheritance. Would these Israelites that Moses spoke to in Deuteronomy be the first generation to obey Yahweh and dissociate themselves from their old Egypt bondage and pagan lifestyle to inherit the Land? Scripture records that although they did indeed follow Joshua into the Land, they stumbled over the Gospel, the message of the Mosaic Covenant. Failing to obey the instruction meant they could not rid the land of the Canaanites (Hebrew 8:8).

1 Peter 2:8 “They [those at Mount Sinai] stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.”

Note: John 1:1,14 and Romans 10:6-7 Identifies Christ Jesus as The Word of God

In Judges 1:27-34 it says that the entire land of Canaan had not been conquered, emplying that those from the tribes of Manasseh, Ephraim, Zebulun, Asher, Naphtali and Dan were not following the instructions thus they could not cleanse the land of the giants. Rather, they compromised by co-existing with them. This brought defilement on both themselves and the Land. They reasoned that by putting the Canaanites under forced labor and making them pay tribute was in some way acceptable to Yahweh.

Did this plan work? Judges 3:1-6 reveals that Yahweh used the Canaanites to test this generation of Israelites (those who had not known war), to strengthen them. Once strengthened, the Israelites were to cleanse the land of their enemy. Instead, they resisted Yahweh’s instructions and went further into rebellion by intermarrying with the Canaanites, embraced their idols and served their gods.

Many generations have passed since the time of Moses, Joshua and Judges. Yahweh’s teaching and instruction given at Mount Sinai is still active today but the evidence of the Whole House of Israel’s lack of obedience to His instruction speaks loud and clear, as the full Promised Land is not yet in the possession of the children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - all the twelve tribes. Today, Yahweh’s set apart people have become too blended into the cultures of the Nations where they have been scattered and have little desire to return to the land of Israel.

Isaiah 6:10 “Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and return [repent] and be healed.”

    Re’eh – See to do

The commandment is to see and then to conquer is still in effect. However, it is our fears that keep us from obeying and entering into our inheritance. If we knew we were willed a HUGE financial inheritance from a relative, how long would it take us to claim it? The same thought applies to our inheritance, as we are Yeshua’s firstfruits and part of Israel. Are we the generation that will obey His Words given at Mount Sinai, walk in a holy lifestyle and inherit the biblical land of our forefathers? If we are indeed the fulfillment of prophecy and it is Yahweh’s timing for our generation to return home, what is holding us back?

Psalm 2:8 “Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession.”

The word re’eh is Strong’s H7200 a Hebrew root word meaning: to see, look at, inspect, perceive, consider, have vision, learn about, observe, watch, look upon, find out, give attention. The Theological Wordbook of the Old Testament goes on to say that re’eh designates the understanding, believing and saving acceptance of the Word of Yahweh, which is His teaching and instruction. In Isaiah 6:10, the Hebrew term translated as see with the eye spiritually speaking means to hear God’s Word, understand it and turn to Him with the purpose to do what He says. On the other hand, in the same passage, to harden the heart against Yahweh’s message is to shut the eyes. Re’eh is the act of acceptance, especially on the part of Yahweh. Yahweh said to Noah, “Thee have I seen righteous,” because Yahweh saw Noah’s obedience to His instructions (Genesis 7:1). Re’eh is to provide and is usually in reference to Yahweh’s provision. We see in Genesis 22: 8 -14, when Abraham obediently offered Yahweh his son Isaac (the heir the Promise), on the altar, a ram appeared as a substitute. Re’eh also indicates, having respect to, especially of Yahweh in acting with mercy in response of our walking in obedience to His teaching and instructions (See Psalm 66:18-20).

This is with the deep-seated heart conviction that Moses wants us to come to see or re’eh in Yahweh’s Words for our lives. We are studying the words of Moses led by the Spirit in order to obey Yahweh’s instructions. It was after the Children of Israel firstly agreed to obey the Gospel of Yahweh, that they received His instructions, the ketubah/Marriage Covenant. To love Yahweh with all one’s heart and with all one’s soul and all one’s might means to obey, guard over His Words, and apply them to our lives by the Spirit of the Holy One. This requirement is the key that opens the doorway into the Land and gives the authority needed to conquer it. Without obedience to the words spoken through Moses there would be no inheritance of physical land or capability of conquering it.

    Sons of the Living God

Many believers in Yeshua/Jesus cannot relate to being part of the Nation of Israel nor see themselves there other than as a visitor since they have not been taught their biblical identity and so believe that the Land of Israel is only meant for the tribe of Judah – the Jews. Neither can these believers see themselves personally addressed within the Scriptures. Many believers have incorrectly been taught that they are separate or adopted and not full blood brothers but second-class citizens of His Kingdom thus believe they can never measure up or be part of the physical inheritance of the land. As a result they do not really relate to Israel on a physical or personal level. They can say “we love Israel” but to physically go there permanently is hard to imagine. It is foreign to them, yet they are Israel.

The Word is very clear – when Yeshua (the Holy One of Israel - The Seed) lives in us we are part of Abraham’s physical seed and heirs according to his Covenant. Scripture says that in Yeshua we are His children, the sons of the Living God, His Temple and that we are doubly fruitful with full inheritance among the twelve tribes of Israel, Judah included! The commandment to all of Abraham’s seed (those in the Abrahamic Covenant) is to go in and conquer the land, not make treaties with those occupying the land, but to remove them.

As believers, we need to remember that it is Yeshua, the root of the Olive Tree of Israel that supports us and as a wild olive tree He has grafted us into the Commonwealth of Israel (His Kingdom) because of our identity as His family in His promised Covenant through Abraham (Genesis 13:16; 15:18-21; 17:1-27; 32:12; Isaiah 48:19; 54:5; Hosea 1:10; Romans 9:25-28; Galatians 3:16; Hebrews 9:15).

    Holiness

As believers, we also need to understand that it is by pursuing and walking in holiness that holds the Land. Without the instructions from Moses (the Gospel of Yeshua/Jesus) it is impossible to do.

Hebrews 6:1 “Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ/Yeshua, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.”

Yahweh’s Spirit is the heart of the land of Israel (which is also a reference to our heart). Our spirit must conform and be filled with His Spirit. Walking in obedience to His teaching and instructions (Mosaic Covenant) is walking in His Heartbeat, which in turn produces His righteousness within us. Following the Gospel Moses imparted at Mount Sinai restores the believer into right order with Yahweh and prepares the way for holiness, which is the foundation of the order of Melchizedek (a king and a priest) in the Davidic Covenant (Revelation 1:6).

We enter into the Davidic Covenant after we have settled our personal sin issues (Colossians 3:5-10). If the principles of Yahweh given through Moses (Mosaic Covenant) are trespassed, those loving instructions then become a law against us – the law of sin and death. When the lawbreaker repents, fellowship with Yahweh can be restored and separation repaired. This is not a salvation issue but a matter of redemption and holiness. This free gift of restoration is only found in Yeshua through His death and resurrection.

Acts 7:39 “But our fathers refused to obey Him. Instead, they rejected Him and in their hearts turned back to Egypt.”

John 14:21 Yeshua said, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”

James 1:22-24 “Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says [re’eh]. Anyone who listens to the Word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.” (Torah is not activated in his heart)

Hebrews 12:14 “Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.”
