    AS feeder question

On the stand/fill model, the regular feeder w cage cost more. It is heavier gauge metal and possibly a few other things idk. The EZ feeder (at Bucc ees) has the varmint plate. If the varmint plate setup is "better", why isn't it offered on the regular version which is built better? I like the concept but want a heavier duty frame, skids, etc.

I have both. The ASF isn’t that much heavier duty. I actually didn’t think the quality was any better than the EZ feeder. The ASF has a better timer. If I was buying another it would be the EZ feeder.

I have not had any issues with the buccees feeders.

Tef.... The one with the feeder cage has a better stand/legs. Other than that, the hopper is the same.

I would be getting the plates because I don't like cages anymore now that I have been introduced to plates and directional feeders. If I'm spending what it costs to get a caged ASF feeder, I'm looking for a Lamco 600 lb Low and Throw instead for a little more money. Other wise, I'm getting the Bucee's feeder.

BIL just sent me $400+ to pick him one up for our local pig place so I'm practicing what I preach..

You keep questioning yourself and season is gonna be half way over before you make a decision..

One more thing....The Bucees feeder is a true stand and fill like the Lamco...The caged ASF is a "throw it up on your shoulder, stand on your tippy toes and push it over into the top" feeder.

I guess that depends on how tall you are.

I’ve got mine on 3 or 4 inch concrete pads and it’s a little high but not crazy.

This is my take. I’ve been running three of the 600lb asf for almost 5 years now and love them but I would prefer the plate on the ez vs the cage any day of the week.
I’ll be buying an ez in the next couple weeks to add to the fleet!

Can’t go wrong with all seasons

LOL! You are so right. My wife and friends make fun of me because I over analyze everything! You just twisted my arm and gave me the push I needed. Thanks.

Also, the price is a significant difference. I've got 3 of the ASF 600lb stand and fills...they are $649 vs $399 for the one Buccees sells.

EZ Feeder is a nice set up...may look into the differences as far as a warranty or if they even offer one

I have 2 bucees ones and one regular asf 600. If I were buying again, it would be the bucees one, even if they were both the same price.

If you want heavy duty, buy a Lamco. I like theirs the best, but I can almost buy 2 of the bucees feeders for the price of one lamco.
